Who can leave a review
A client of the firm, signed in with their own email address. If the firm has claimed its listing, we email it to confirm the reviewer was a client; if it has not, does not answer within 14 days, or says the reviewer was not a client, a moderator decides on other evidence and may ask the reviewer for it. Before the review is live the firm sees only the kind of work and the dates, never the reviewer's email address or the text. We email the reviewer when the review is published, or the reason if we cannot publish it.
What we remove
Reviews that are not from a client, that name individuals outside the firm, that contain threats, discrimination or personal data, or that are about a different business. We do not remove reviews for being negative, and we do not remove them at the firm's request.
What firms can do
Reply once, publicly, under the review. Report a review they believe breaks this policy; a moderator checks it against this policy, and we aim to do that within five working days. If we remove it, the profile says so and why.
Incentives
A firm may ask clients to review them but may not pay, discount, or make anything depend on the content or rating. Reviews we find were rewarded or conditioned are removed, with the reason shown on the profile.
Changing or deleting your review
You can change your review from your account page. Until it is published, a change is saved straight away. Once it is published, a moderator checks the change first, usually within five working days, and your original stays on the profile until then; a changed review shows "Edited" with the date. A published review can be changed up to three times. You can also delete your review at any time: it comes off the profile and the rating at once. Earlier wording is never public; moderators keep it for 90 days, then the text is deleted. A firm is not emailed when a review is changed or deleted. A review a moderator removed cannot be changed or deleted, so its public notice stays.
Listing fees
Listing fees are for businesses, not consumers. Each fee is a single payment: there is no renewal and no subscription. You pay only after your claim is approved, and the fee is non-refundable once paid. If you think you were charged in error, contact us first; we handle any dispute under these terms.
Your content on your listing
When you add text, a logo or photos to your listing, you keep ownership of them. You give Property Architecture Ltd, which runs mylocalsolicitors.co.uk, a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to show, copy, resize and crop them on mylocalsolicitors.co.uk and in its search results, link previews and social-media previews, for as long as your listing is live and for up to 30 days after you remove them while copies clear from caches. You confirm that you own the content or have permission to use it, and that it is accurate and lawful. We may moderate what you add: we can edit it for length or format, refuse it, or remove it if it breaks these terms or the law, and if you ask we will tell you why. Ask us to remove any of your content by emailing [email protected]; we will remove it within 5 working days.
Ranking and featured listings
Position in the ranked list is verified client review score, then distance from the town centre. A featured listing is a paid placement shown in its own labelled slot above that list. If a town has more than three Featured listings, they take turns in that slot day by day; on other days a Featured listing sits in the ranked list at the place its reviews earn, with no paid label, because that place is not paid for.
